Agile SDLC Root-Cause Analysis

If you’re looking to understand why deliveries are unpredictable and quarterly goals are missed, I’d love to help you! We’ll define your SDLC or analyze your existing one through Root Cause Analysis to examine where inconsistent practices affect quality, where communication gaps cause delays, where unclear responsibilities hinder decisions, and where process gaps cause rework.

Your teams will gain practical insights to vet requirements, divide and plan cross-team work, and proactively resolve dependencies. My findings will be synthesized into a clear, actionable recommendation report addressing the root causes.

Release Train Engineer Coaching

RTEs have a unique vantage point to spot system challenges.

In this coaching, we’ll examine how your program handles cross-team dependencies, risk management, and PI delivery. Together we’ll address where and why features stall between teams. You’ll gain practical skills to establish best practices for efficient PI planning, dependency coordination, and risk mitigation. You’ll empower teams with a framework to coordinate effectively while you maintain clear visibility of the train’s progress, ready to respond to any escalated risk with swiftness and ease on who needs to be involved, what decision needs to be made, and what impacts must be communicated upstream and downstream.

Product Manager Coaching

PMs define business value, but the unseen work is fostering trust with stakeholders and weighing critical decisions that shape team direction. How can you do this effectively when you’re competing against other PMs for team capacity, re-explaining misunderstood requirements, chasing down cross-team dependencies, or watching delivery dates slip by?

We’ll examine the unique position a PM holds to craft requirements that give teams clear direction while holding space for them to implement details. Together, we’ll analyze how to streamline your requirements gathering, capacity planning, and stakeholder management.

By the end of this coaching, you’ll move from managing workarounds to establishing standards that elevate your entire PM team’s effectiveness.

Experience

Arielle-Cherie Paterson

Throughout my ten-year journey from hands-on software engineer to Agile consultant, I’ve developed a unique approach to improving SDLCs that is grounded in technical excellence and practical collaboration. My clients’ teams go from “living on meetings” everyday putting out fires to having a pulse on what’s happening upstream and downstream with cleared calendars, quiet and spacious to focus on the work.

My holistic approach to Agility was shaped by my progression from Software Engineer to Scrum Master to Product Owner to RTE—each role deepening my understanding of systemic issues from multiple perspectives. My multi-lens view helps me empathize with teams and partner effectively with C-suite executives, facilitating trust-building discussions and charting clear paths to sustainable, predictable delivery. I’ve consulted in environments where Agile needed to be built from the ground up, as well as in organizations where teams had grown disillusioned with long-standing Agile practices and were resistant to change. In both contexts, I built bridges across groups, catalyzing the tough conversations necessary to make collaboration easier.

My expertise lies in identifying and addressing root causes rather than surface-level symptoms. I bring both systems thinking and cultural transformation to every engagement—uncovering hidden SDLC impediments and empowering your teams to drive lasting change. My Clients develop Agile capabilities that continue to thrive long after our engagement.

Wherever you are on your agile journey, I can help you uncover and overcome the hidden obstacles.
